Program Overview

E.E.T.C's EMT - Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-Basic) course is designed to train individuals in skills and knowledge necessary to complete the National Registry EMT examination and achieve certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
The EMT program includes three essential components: online coursework, hands-on Skills Lab, and clinical/field experience. Please note that both the Skills Lab and clinical/field experiences require in-person attendance.

Students will
*Complete the Didactic Portion online
Work at your own pace! The student has 90 days from the day they start to complete ALL aspects of the course. Do the course as fast as you want. Example: You don't want to take 90 days and your goal is 30. Then make it happen!

*Complete the hands-on Skills Days - Scheduled at your convenience
*Each student will complete three skills practice days and at least one National Registry Skills Testing Day. These days are scheduled at your convenience to accommodate our students' schedules.
*Complete the Clinical and Ambulance Rotations
Clinical and Ambulance rotations are provided via several EETC Affiliates. Students will complete required 48 hours of EMS time with at least 6 patient transports, and Emergency Department time. These hours well be done at our partnering facilities in Texas.
Graduates of this program will be able to describe the essential elements for response to the scene of a medical emergency; perform a thorough patient assessment for signs and symptoms of illness/injury; provide prompt and efficient basic emergency care to the sick and injured. Students will also learn how to handle safely and prepare the patient for transportation and describe the essential elements of safe and orderly transportation of the patient to the hospital and transfer of the patient to a higher level of care.
